These are the thoughts that used to run through my mind on the regular. I had two young kids, I was running a business, and trying to manage our home - I felt stretched waaaay too thin.

Emotions are often categorized into two groups: primary and secondary emotions.
Primary emotions are those that we actually feel FIRST, even if we aren't aware of it - typically a more vulnerable emotion, like ANXIETY, sadness, hurt, or frustration.
Secondary emotions are what we tend to feel second (shocker!) - we also feel them more strongly, and they serve to cover up our more vulnerable primary emotions in a form of self-protection.
Some common triggers that stem from anxiety, stress, and worry are:
Feeling irritated or annoyed
Feeling out of control, or that someone is trying to control you
Feeling criticized, blamed, or becoming defensive
Anxiety activates the amygdala, creating the fight, flight, or freeze response that causes so much of our discomfort.
